Slinkachu's 'little people project' started in 2006. It involves miniature models and various kinds of props. Slinkachu used big cities as the backdrop and to make people be known about their surroundings. Humour is evident in the shoots of Slinkachu.
Favourite
I like this picture because it shows a story about a poor and homeless person. Also it has 3 two pence coins to add to the empathy, the focus point is on the little figure and on the note that says " Poor & Hungry ". Furthermore, the background is appropriate because that's the kind of background you will find a homeless person.
Favourite
I don't like this picture because the background isn't a place where you would be camping. Also the focus point is on the iron bar which ruins the whole photograph. In my opinion, I think that if the photograph was taken from a worms eye view it would have been better. However, Slinkachu's humour is in this picture as you wouldn't expect someone camping there.
Isaac Cordal
Isaac Cordal is a photographer, just like Slinkachu but, that uses cement figures instead. His project is called "Cement Eclipses". He is from Spain but is based in London. Isaac Cordal magically expands the imagination of pedestrians finding his sculptures on the street. "The figurines represent a kind of metamorphosis through which human being leaves his role of citizen merging with the city and slowly becoming a part of urban furniture" - Isaac Cordal

- Make a butterfly.
- Find a pole.
- Put a man on top of the butterfly to add a little bit of FANTASY
I will be using this tutorial to build the butterfly.
My Worst Take
This is my worst take because the butterfly and the figure is all out of focus. Also I wanted the background all out of focus so it becomes a small depth of field.
My Best Take
This is my best picture because the butterfly and the figure is in focus. And, just like I wanted, the background is out of focus so it makes a small depth of field.
Take 2
Plan:
- Get a figure
- Put the figure on a face made out of screws and bolts.
- Get a figure
- Put the figure on a face made out of screws and bolts.
My Worst Take
This is my worst take because the focus point is on the screw and there is a lot of camera shake.
My Best Take
This is my best take because the focus point is on the figure and the left side of the face is in focus and the right side is out of focus which gives a medium depth of field. Also, the background adds a great impact on the picture because the figure is resting on the eye of the face.
Take 3
Plan:
- Get a bottle.
- Get a figure.
- Put the figure on the edge of the bottle so it looks like it the man is going into a strange place, which gives it a dramatic theme.
- Get a bottle.
- Get a figure.
- Put the figure on the edge of the bottle so it looks like it the man is going into a strange place, which gives it a dramatic theme.
My Worst Take
This is my worst take because the figure isn't that visible and Slinkachu is about making stories with the figures.
My Best Take
This is my best take because the focus point is on the figure and the depth of field is small. Also I have applied the rule of thirds and the depth of filed is small.
Take 4
Plan:
- I will use a toy car.
- I will use red paint.
- I'm going to make a car accident.
- I will use a toy car.
- I will use red paint.
- I'm going to make a car accident.
My Worst Take
This photo is under exposed and the focus point is on everything which means a large depth of field, however I wanted a small depth of field with the focus point just on the figures.
My Best Take
This is my best take because the red paint adds the extra effect for blood. Also the focus point is on the woman on the floor. The woman standing near the scene would be thinking "what have I done". Furthermore, there is a large depth of field with everything in focus.
Take 5
Plan:
- Get a cone.
- Get a figure.
- Put the figure on the cone so it looks like the person is rock climbing.
- Get a cone.
- Get a figure.
- Put the figure on the cone so it looks like the person is rock climbing.
My Worst Take
This is my worst take because the figure is out of focus and there is a small depth of field with the focus point on the side os the cone. I experimented with he angle and it didn't come out as good as I thought it would.
My Best Take
This is my best take because the angle of the shot taken is really effective and the focus point is on the figure. Also I have a small depth of field around the figure so it looks very good and the angle of this shot really looks like the figure is repelling down the cone.
Take 6
Plan:
- Get a glass of water.
- Put a figure on the glass.
- It looks like the person is diving.
- Get a glass of water.
- Put a figure on the glass.
- It looks like the person is diving.
My Worst Take
This is my worst take because the figure and the cup is out of focus, which also means a medium depth of field, whilst I wanted a small depth of field.
My Best Take
This is my best take because the figure and the cup is in focus just how I wanted. Also the background is out of focus with the water crystal clear. Furthermore, I have applied the rule of thirds to where the figure is.
Take 7
Plan:
- I will use a boat.
- I will need a puddle.
- I will make man cruising on his boat.
- I will use a boat.
- I will need a puddle.
- I will make man cruising on his boat.
My Worst Take
The picture has the focus point on the reflection, of Uzayr Chunara, instead of the boat. Also the boat is out of focus which means a large depth of field but I wanted a medium depth of field.
My Best Take
This is my best photograph because the focus point is on the figure. Also the background is all out of focus, which gives me a medium depth of field. Overall, I think this is one of my strongest photographs.
Take 8
Plan:
- Get a figure.
- Get a couple of sticks.
- Put the sticks between two plastic cups and put the person on top of the sticks so it looks like it is tight rope walking.
- Get a figure.
- Get a couple of sticks.
- Put the sticks between two plastic cups and put the person on top of the sticks so it looks like it is tight rope walking.
My Worst Take
This is my worst take because the focus point is on the cup instead of the figure and the figure is out of focus. Also the camera angle did not turn out as good as my best take because the shadow isn't in shot so it doesn't impact the photograph.
My best & last of the unit
This is my best take because the focus point is on the person and the stick which causes a medium depth of field. Also the shadow on the background makes a good impact on the picture. Furthermore, Slinkachu never uses shadows and I wanted to add a shadow because that is my own little touch to the photograph. It's like I have captured the reflection of the figure and having two pictures in one whole photograph.
Evaluation
Overall, I think that my research has proven that I have understood the styles of the photographers. The pictures which I took with the statues have shown that the styles my pictures were taken in the style of the photographer. My photographs have allowed me to generate ideas in which I can edit them in my own styles. I think that I have done amazing in this unit as this was my favourite unit to do.
